Lanterns
When you are miles from civilization and the sun has gone
down and your fire has died you'll be glad you brought lanterns on your
trip. Lanterns provide a practical means of getting bright light when
you are away from electricity. They can also be used for more romantic
mood lighting as well.
When choosing lanterns think about the quality of light you want. Gas
lanterns are bright but noisy. Candle lanterns provide pleasant ambience
and are quiet. Battery-operated lanterns are reliable (as long as you
have tested the batteries).
For maximum light and durability look into battery-operated lanterns.
However if you will be going into a cold climate you will probably want
a fuel-burning land turn or a candle lantern. Also, make sure you have
a waterproof lantern if your trip involves rain or snow.
